Welcome to Bourton-on-the-Water Primary Academy
Bourton-on-the-Water, near Cheltenham, is appropriately called the Venice of The Cotswolds and is situated in an idyllic spot in the Valley of the River Windrush. The Primary School stands close to the centre of the village, almost next to St Lawrence's Church and virtually adjacent to The Cotswold School.
Our tag line - 'We CARE' underpins every aspect of school life and is key to ensuring high levels of motivation, enthusiasm and excitement in learning.
Challenge - we show determination to improve and succeed.
Amaze - we celebrate the achievements of others and ourselves.
Respect - we look after ourselves, each other and the community.
Enjoy - we achieve our potential and gain skills for life.
Ours is a happy, caring school, well established within the community where generations of local people have enjoyed liberal opportunity to discover pleasure in literature, poetry, music, art and craft, drama and movement as well as mathematical and scientific skills.
The staff aim to create and maintain an environment within which each child is enabled to realise his/her maximum potential, through the provision of rich and rigorous curriculum opportunities.
Explore this site to find out more about the school, keep up to date with what's going on and see the achievements of our pupils.
We welcome parents and other people to work alongside us in the School. Such involvement is invaluable to everyone concerned. There is an open invitation to parents and friends to let us know when they can come and how they may help. Parents can volunteer their support through FOBS, our parents association, or direct to their child’s teacher or the Headteacher. Other volunteers can come into School to hear children read, support the teaching or secretarial staff, or even do odd jobs around the campus.
We are seeking people to help us with our Disability and Equality Scheme, and part of the process is to involve Disabled People in developing the Scheme. We would therefore like to invite pupils, staff, parents, carers and disabled members of the community who may use school facilities to participate in this process, thereby helping us to develop the scheme and identify actions. We are required to publish the outline of our DISABILITY EQUALITY SCHEME and this is now available to view online, via the School Policies page. If you are interested in getting involved and joining our DES Working Party, please contact the Headteacher or speak to Cheryl Agg in the School Office Tel: 01451 820458.
Anyone wishing to become a School Governor should contact the Headteacher.
