At the AGM it was recorded that for the school year 2008-09 FoBS successfully raised £7,314.94; after expenses in association with staging various events, a profit of £5,752.19 was available for the purchase of equipment etc.

Some of this amount was spent on the redecoration of 4 classrooms, a 40” digital TV, Infants and Junior playground equipment, storage boxes, the sponsoring of Father Christmas’ visit, a gift of a school book bag to every new child in the school, the purchase of future fund-raising equipment ie: tombola drum, costume, splat the rat, the purchase of crockery for school dinners and Year 6 leavers gifts.

A lot of hard work had gone into raising this amount by the committee but we have to report that we also had fun doing it and forged some good friendships. We would very much like to see some new faces especially with a view to taking over next year as the current committee shall be standing down at the end of their 2 years in office at the next AGM.

Our aims for 2009-10 are:

• To complete the redecoration of the classrooms.

• To purchase new equipment in consultation with the staff and school council.

• To support school trips.

All FoBS meetings are open to all parents - you are always welcome.

 

Duck Racing and White Elephant Stall
The Duck Races and White Elephant stall held on Monday 3rd May raised £445.22.  A good day was had even if the weather was mixed. Thanks to all who donated and helped.

Valentine Disco
The Valentine Disco, held on Thursday 11th February 2010, raised £311.60.

Cake Sale
The Cake Sale, held on 29th January 2010, raised a total of £77.02.

School Christmas Disco
The School Christmas Disco, held on 16th December 2009, raised £434.25.

Cake Sale
The Cake Sale, held on Friday 11th December 2009, raised a total of £76.00.

Victorian Evening
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the Victorian Tombola possible.  A special thankyou goes to: Kellie Cruickshank and Sam Buddle for manning it from start to finish, Richard Bufton (provided the transport), Andy Markham (provided the lighting), Nicky Crammen, Rachel Mace, Nicola Franks, Tamsin Miller and Arthur and Vic Ashcroft's Grandad. We took £470 on the night so after costs we had a profit of £386.60.  Well done!

Ladies Night
Despite a disappointing turn-out, the Ladies Night on Friday 20th November raised over £332.  A big THANK YOU to all who organised and supported the event.

Cake Sale
At the Cake Sale held on Friday 6th November we made £80.00, our best cake sale yet!  Well done to those who helped, it was pretty manic – the queue went on and on and on!  Many thanks to all.
